They did indeed break the mould when they made Barney Curley.
And who needs the hoop-la of a Royal Ascot or Cheltenham Festival? Often the best results, and biggest winners, come at tracks you’ve barely heard of.
Curley definitely etched the name of Bellewstown into racing folklore.

It not only entertains, but it energises us. Because if winning big can be done by someone else, it can also be done by us – can’t it? And characters such as Barney Curley, who are at the centre of a genuine inside gamble like Yellow Sam, give hope to us all.
