There is jump racing at Fontwell Park every month of the year apart from July and during the season the aim is to appeal to the widest possible audience by offering a variety of themes at their racing fixtures.
There are high prize money fixtures such as Countryside Race Day in February when more than £100,000 of prize money is on offer… this race is a recognised Cheltenham Festival trial.
March, May, September and October see Family Days with plenty of entertainment organised for Mum, Dad and the children including fun fair rides, a pet’s corner, bouncy castles and face painters. Children aged 15 and under are admitted free of charge to all race meetings.
Popular evening meetings are known as ‘Parties in the Park’ when there is live music after racing. These take place in May and August (Ladies Evening).
Fontwell Racecourse also has their Super Irish Saturday in October and the Big Autumn Race Day in November which includes the popular long distance chase, the Southern National as well as a Food and Drink Fair. The year end with Christmas Party Race Days in December.
Fontwell Park has been voted the ‘Best Small Racecourse in the South East’ for the last 17 years by the Racegoers Club.
